Dry Brown Pebbles
Feb 08, 2025The history of kibble was created by a man that wanted to give his dog a treat back in the 1850s. In 1931 Nabisco bought the rights and the company to make the biscuits. They then turned it into milk bones and sold it as dog food in grocery stores. 1922 canned food was invented, made with horse meat. In 1950 a new manufacture used a new automatic process called extrusion cooking. It mixes plants, meat, supplements, and chemicals into a giant hopper. It’s then cooked at extremely high temps that cooks the important nutrients out of it and denatures it. It’s chopped and formed into kibble, bagged and sold on store shelves. Purina dog chow was formed & by the 1960s the marketing team began a campaign to feed only this dry food. That was the beginning of the shift in health for pets. The extrusion process that kibble foods go through leaves little nutrients, water, or essential vitamins & minerals required to thrive in their short lives on earth!
